FUNDACIÓ CATALANA SINDROME DE DOWN (FCSD)
The Fundació Catalana Síndrome de Down (FCSD) is a non-profit private organization founded in 1984 and based in Barcelona, Spain. The FCSD was born out of a common interest, shared by parents and professionals alike, to gain a better understanding of Down Syndrome (DS) by carrying out research and doing practical work in the fields of education, psychology, medicine and welfare. From its very beginning, outstanding international scientists specialized in subjects relating to DS have given the FCSD their valuable support and on some occasions even their personal participation, if necessary.
Our vision: A world in which people with disabilities participate fully in society on equal terms with everyone else.
Our mission: To improve quality of life for people with Down Syndrome or other intellectual disabilities, enabling their full inclusion in society as well as their attainment of well-being, self-determination, personal development, respect, and dignity at the highest levels.
Main services: Centre for child development and early intervention, Mainstream school support service, Job integration, Leisure and participation "Let's Meet", Adult Education Service, Independent living support service "I'm going home", Therapeutic attention service, Down Medical Centre and Family support service.
